About Us – UK Audio Visual Specialists

Pro Technical designs, installs and maintains professional audio, video, lighting, LED and control systems for commercial venues across the UK and Europe.

From our base in Derby, we deliver dependable AV solutions for bars, restaurants, hotels, competitive socialising venues, nightclubs, leisure destinations, offices and other commercial environments.

Pro Technical has worked in the professional audio-visual industry since 1997.

During that time, commercial AV has evolved from conventional sound and video installations into integrated digital systems combining networked audio, AV-over-IP, intelligent lighting, LED displays and centralised control.

We have developed alongside these technologies while maintaining one practical objective: to create reliable AV systems that perform well, are straightforward to operate and support how each venue works.

Our experience includes new installations, refurbishments, system upgrades and ongoing maintenance. Every project is approached individually, with the system designed around the venue rather than a standard equipment package.

We provide a complete commercial AV service covering consultation, system design, equipment supply, installation, programming, commissioning and ongoing support.

Our principal services include:

Commercial sound-system installation
Distributed and multi-zone audio
Commercial displays and video distribution
LED video walls and LED pixel systems
Entertainment and architectural lighting
AV control and automation
Equipment racks, cabling and network integration
System upgrades, maintenance and technical support

Combining these disciplines within one coordinated installation helps ensure that audio, video, lighting and control systems work together effectively.

Every successful AV installation begins with understanding what the venue needs to achieve.

Before specifying equipment, we consider the building, operating model, audience, acoustic environment and the requirements of the people who will use the system.

Our engineers assess factors including sound coverage, audio zoning, display positions, signal distribution, cable routes, equipment-rack space, control requirements and future expansion.

Equipment is selected because it is appropriate for the application—not simply because of a manufacturer name or a predetermined package. The resulting design balances performance, reliability, usability, serviceability and budget.

Our team includes experienced AV engineers, system designers, installers, programmers and project specialists.

We work across the complete project lifecycle, from the first technical discussion through to final commissioning and operator training. We also coordinate with architects, interior designers, electricians, builders, IT teams and venue operators.

Our Derby base provides a central location for UK projects and supports our work across Europe.

Where possible, equipment racks, control hardware and system components are assembled, configured and tested in our workshop before arriving on site. This preparation improves consistency, reduces avoidable site work and helps identify potential issues before installation begins.

Our project process is designed to take an AV installation from its initial concept to dependable day-to-day operation.

We establish the venue’s objectives, operating requirements, technical constraints, programme and budget.

Our engineers develop the audio, video, lighting, LED and control architecture, including equipment schedules, layouts, cable requirements and control strategies where required.

We install and integrate the specified equipment, cabling, loudspeakers, displays, lighting, LED components, equipment racks and control hardware.

Each part of the system is configured and tested. This can include DSP programming, sound-system tuning, level balancing, display testing, video routing, lighting programming and control-interface configuration.

Venue personnel are shown how to operate the completed system, with relevant documentation provided as part of the project handover.

Pro Technical works with established professional AV manufacturers and specialist technology partners across audio, video, lighting, LED, networking and control.

We are not restricted to a single manufacturer or technology platform. Products are chosen according to the performance, integration and support requirements of each project.

Our industry relationships also provide access to product knowledge, specialist assistance and technical support throughout the design, installation and maintenance stages.

We work with independent operators, hospitality groups, established venue brands, main contractors and commercial organisations.

Our experience covers:

Bars, restaurants and sports bars
Hotels and event spaces
Competitive socialising venues
Nightclubs and live-entertainment spaces
Leisure and sports destinations
Retail environments
Offices and commercial workplaces

Each environment has different requirements. A restaurant may need discreet background audio, while a sports bar may require multi-screen video routing and independently controlled sound zones. Our systems are designed around those differences.

Pro Technical delivers commercial AV projects throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.

For clients operating multiple sites, we can help create consistent technical standards while adapting each installation to its individual building, capacity and operational requirements.

Workshop preparation, structured project management and coordination with other contractors help us deliver projects efficiently, including installations with demanding programmes or fixed opening dates.

Our involvement does not have to end when an installation is commissioned.

We provide planned maintenance, system checks, fault diagnosis, equipment replacement and technical support for commercial AV systems.

We can also review existing installations when a venue changes its layout or operating requirements. Where appropriate, we retain suitable equipment and replace only the components limiting performance, functionality or reliability.

Whether you are planning a new venue, refurbishing an existing space or upgrading an ageing AV system, Pro Technical can support your project from initial design through to installation and ongoing maintenance.
